This is an example of a project that combines writing, information skills and computer skills. You will complete an example, then publish this activity as a set of web pages for other teachers and students to use.
1. Think, photograph, and write: You
will be asked to choose an object and to write a short news piece
about the object and its uses, including images captured using a
digital camera; you will then create a web page for this news piece.
2. Develop online activity: Next
you will develop a set of web pages to publish your activity for use by
students and teachers. You will want to have at least three pages
that are linked together (one for teachers with curricular connections,
one for students, and one with an example). You may want to have a master
page as well. Be sure to note how the activity links to the Language
Arts Curriculum, the Information
Skills Curriculum and the Computer
Skills Curriculum, citing specific competencies and linking to these
on the web.
3. Save: Save this to your
disk and to your back-up disk. Each person should copy the pictures
to his or her own disk and keep a copy of the assignment.. Turn in a copy
for Jeff to load on the server.
4. Evaluation: Your web pages will be evaluated
using a rubric
(for up to 20 points credit).
