Directions for the teacher:
* At the front of the classroom, have a box full of enough items so that each group of two children have an item to choose from. It is best if each item is unknown by each child so that they do not form any preconceived notion about what the item is alreafy used for.
* Begin class by presenting a demo of an item that you have invented, or use the one on the main page of this site. Encourage students to be creative and open-minded. Remind them to use their imagination, because there are no definite possibilities to what the items can be used for.
* Introduce students to the use of digital cameras and how their images can eb brought up on the computer screen. The link below will assist you in doing so.
* Introduce students to the use of Netscape Navigator to create web pages. The link below will give instructions to this process.
* Have students brainstorm about the possibilities of their objects and write newspaper articles advertising these objects to others who may be unfamiliar with the object.
* Assist students in taking pictures using their invented items with the digital cameras. Students may also need assistance in starting thier web page and opening their digital pictures on the main page.
* After everyone has completed this assignment, allow students to pull present their invented objects to the class and pull up the web pages of various students.
