MASTERS OF INVENTION

Looking for a great way to spice up creative
writing and take care of some of those technology competencies? The
Masters of Invention activity is the activity for you. Masters of
Invention is not only fun but it also brings out the creativity of your
students. You can adapt this activity for grades third through eighth.
Your students will use their creative juices to think of alternative uses
of items and then write a newspaper article about their invention.
Once the child is finished, they will create a web page using their work
as the topic. Following are teacher instructions, student instructions,
and an example of what should be expected from your students. The
important thing to remember is to have an open mind and a different way
of thinking.
