Parts of Speech Grammar Mini-Lesson

  • Using the books by Cleary, Heller, and Terban, as well as your handout from Venolia, you are invited to investigate a part of speech and create a presentation to introduce the part of speech to your classmates.

  • You may choose to compose an “I” Poem or an Acrostic Poem to present your part of speech.

  • Also, as part of your presentation, you will include a “Part of Speech Caricature.”  Your caricature should include the name of the part of speech, represent the part of speech artistically, include examples of the part of speech, and it should be visually stimulating.

  • After you have taught our class about “your part of speech,” you should have the students complete the Part of Speech Activity Page. Encourage students to use their books to “hunt” for examples of the parts of speech.
