Orthodox Church celebrates Christmas January 7 with church services. As
in all Russian Orthodox rituals, Christmas prayers are chanted and sung,
not spoken. At Christmas time, Russian children look forward to the arrival
of a men with a red suit and a long, white beard--Dyed Maroz, or Grandfather
frost. Dyed Maroz brings presents on New Year's day

Russian Orthodox cathedral in st. petersburg was was turned by the
Communists into a Museum of atheism{a museum honoring the belief that there
