The kids that we interviewed in-depth said that their favorite music was Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, and S club 7. We found this to be surprising because of the high maturity level of these musicians. Most of the kids reasons for liking these music stars involved popularity. The kids liked them because of the way they dress and look, the way they sing, and influence of older siblings. Those kids with older siblings tended to like music that we would associate with teenagers because of their influence.
