competetition
Blowing Rock-Angelee Deardorf, a local of Blowing Rock, is in
full training as she
prepares for the “World’s Strongest Woman Competition” this fall.
The competition will
be held in Puerto Rico in October. This will be Deardorf’s third
year competing in the
world competetion. As she prepares for this by vigorously training,
she has found that
her most challenging and helpful workout comes from the new “Slinky
Slimmer”
introduced this summer.
The Slinky Slimmer was invented by a group of Appalachian State University
students
who were tired of going to the Quinn Center (the on-campus gym) and
finding nothing
challenging enough to use for their workouts. Tara Price, an
Appalachian senior, states
“Since we found the Slinky Slimmer, workouts have been so much more
challenging.
Since I became `Appalachian’s Most Fit Woman,’ it has been hard for
me to keep up my
reputation because there is no equiptment challenging enough for me.
Now, with the new
Slinky Slimmer, I have been able to regain my perfect build.”
Deardorf leaves for Puerto Rico at the end of October. We will
all be cheering her on
from home! There has been talk about a new sponser for the Slinky
Slimmer. Will it be
