Introduction
Question: Did you know that all
television shows, radio shows, film productions, books, etc. have something
in common?
Answer: They all
start out as a brainstorm of ideas in someone's head.
- Today, we are going to work on how to tell a story.
You are going to work alone but later you will work in a small group
on the story.
Individual
1) First, I want you to look at these pictures that
you have pulled up on the Web Page and put them in any order to tell a
story.
2) Then, want you to brainstorm for ideas on how
the story should progress.
3) Next, I would like you to write the story for
your pictures.
4) Finally, I would like for you to print out your
story on Microsoft Word so that you can share it in your small group
Group
1) First, I would like you to get into groups of
3-4 and share your story with your group.
2) Then, I want you to brainstorm on ideas as a group
of what your group can change and keep the same to come up with a
new story.
3) Next, I will assign parts for each of you:
- Writer: Person
who will take down brainstorm ideas from group
- Secretary: Person
who will actually transfer pictures and story to Microsoft Word
- Presenter: Person
from the group who will read the story to the class
- Author: Person
who will come up with and share these ideas from the story:
· Character(s): [Hero(s)
or Heroine(s) - Protagonist, Villain(s) - Antagonist, Goal(s)
· Setting: [When
and Where the story takes place]
· Plot: [Problem,
Solution, Conflict, Resolution, Theme]
4) Finally, I will ask the Presenter to read the
story to the class and the Author to describe the Elements of their story
