ESL Inquiry Project: a presentation that explores the ways to incorporate ESL students in a regular classroom.

Context
This research project was created and presented as a requirement of the course “Curriculum and Instruction in the Elementary Classroom” during my pre-service training at Appalachian State University.

Impact
Through researching this project, I found a great deal of information on accommodating ESL learners into my classroom.  As part of our project, we presented ideas about why being informed about ESL learners is important, culture in our classrooms, and specific instructional strategies that would be beneficial to the success of ESL learners.

Alignment
Our presentation included a list of resources for ESL students to use to help them with their learning (Tech 13.2). Another list of resources for teachers of ESL students is also included to aid teacher's knowledge of ESL learners (Tech 13.3).
One resource that is included in the compilation is the web site for the Teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), is a national organization that provides information and services to ESL teachers across the nation (Tech 13.4).
