Cable and Television Resources for Literature Circle Unit:  using a movie from cable to support the curriculum

Context

This resource was used as the launch of my Medieval Times literature circle unit in my Language and Literature in Elementary School course during my pre-service training at Appalachian State University.

Impact

This video provides the launch for a unit on medieval times.  It is used to spark the interest of the students at the onset of the unit.

Alignment

Television resources, such as movies recorded off of cable, can be incorporated into lessons in order to support the language arts component of the curriculum (Tech Comp 10.2).  This resource provides an introduction to a literature study on medieval times.  The movie is very relevant to the study, and correlates well with the books chosen for the unit (Tech Comp 12.6).
