The piece of software I explored was, "Where in the
US is Carmen Sandiego?". After playing around on it for a little
while I thought it was a wonderful learning device for students from third
grade up. The program had music and great graphics and it was very
fun and exciting to work with. I do not think this software had any
weaknesses! The directions were very easy to understand and it was
very easy to play. The mouse was used to click on what you wanted
to do and where you wanted to go in the game.
I would definitely use this software in my classroom.
It can help out in many different areas and it is not boring. I had
so much fun playing with it and I think children form third grade on up
would love it! I do not think students would look at his software
as something like homework to make them learn something! It is very
exciting because the whole point of the game is to figure out a mystery!
This software could be used when children are finished
with their individual work and have time to do something. It really
can help students learn about geography and where different states are
located. It can also help students learn about the history of different
states. I think this software is great because it can help students
who need to see something and work with it, rather than just learning by
hearing facts. I think it is important when choosing software for
a classroom to make sure students are actually learning something while
they are also having fun doing so! This software was great at doing
this in my opinion. I had so much fun and there were still facts
that I was learning. To look at an evaluation of this software on
