Focus and Review

The teacher will remind the students that they have been practicing computer skills.

Launch

Today we will discuss the steps to open, saving, and creating a file.  We will be developing a word-processed document on the computer.  Along with the document, a copy of the steps to open, save and create the document will be turned in.
Tomorrow is July 4th.  It is a day that America celebrates its Independence, it is officially known as Independence Day.  We have been creating word-processed documents throughout the year.  To wrap up the year we will be having an assessment on the steps to open, save and create a word-processed document.

Explore

The students can practice the steps for a few minutes on the computer and then will be asked to create a word processed document about what independence means to them and what traditional activities do they observe on this day.

Closure

The students will turn in their word-processed assignment.  To access each student, I will be looking for an understanding in his or her steps to open, save and create a word-processed document.  I will watch for vocabulary words relating to the steps.
