Experience

Internship, Beech Mountain Elementary School, Elk Park, NC, Fall 2001.
Cooperating teacher: Ms. Sharon Johnson.  During this experience, I worked with
Kindergarten and first grade students.  By being involved in this internship, I was able to
better prepare myself for student teaching in the Spring of 2002.  I regularly taught
integrated science and social studies lessons and I also taught language arts and
mathematics.  Furthermore, I provided assistance to my cooperating teacher in any way necessary.

Youth Minister Internship, Butters Baptist Church, Bladenboro, NC, Summer 2000.
Supervisor: Mr. Merle Johnson.  For ten weeks I had the opportunity to work with youth
from the community and find ways to actively involve them in church activities and to
help them pursue spiritual growth.  I also worked with young children, implementing
activities in a Backyard Bible Club and taking time to involve them with bi-weekly
field trips.
