Student Teaching

Student
teaching was completed in a high achieving sixth grade classroom in rural
North Carolina. I had the opportunity to teach seventeen highly intelligent
and dedicated students in a self contained sixth grade classroom.
All subject areas were taught during my five months in this classroom.

Salesperson, Bass Outlet
1996- 1999
Responsible for customer service in a fast paced retail store in Blowing
Rock, NC.
Aided customers
with their purchases as well as providing information about their
products.
Nanny, Betty and Robin Thompson
1997- 1999
Responsible for two children ages seven and three months old. Cared
for these
children eight
hours a day as well as providing tutoring with homework and taking
care of an
infant. I was also asked to travel extensively with the family.
Ski Instructor, Ski Beech
Mountain 1995- 1998
Provided ski lessons in the SKiWee program on a busy mountain in Banner
Elk, NC.
Responsible
for up to fifteen students in a class for six hours a day. I was
able to
teach a wide
range of ages from three years up to fifteen years of age. In addition
to
teaching I
was also responsible for discussing with parent or guardian their child's
progress and
ability levels.
Nanny, J. Anderson Little
1996- 1997
Responsible for the care of a ten year old boy. In addition to providing
transportation
to and from
activities I was also expected to tutor the boy after school. Bonuses
were
awarded for
academic improvement throughout the semester.
