semester to future "block" students, faculty and staff of the cooperating

The Watauga
Leaders program in the Watauga County School System in North Carolina,
is a program catered to those children in grades 5 through 8. With
adult chaperones, high school students worked as tutors and mentors to
the children who stayed in the care of after-school. Many activities
took place such as swimming (seen above), roller skating, drug prevention
education (where local sheriffs brought a drug dog to "sniff out" a target),
arts and crafts, and visiting the nursing home once a month. This
is a beneficial program to all who participated.
