Philosophy of Education
My grandmother has always told me that if I did not teach young children
that I would miss my calling in life. I can remember teaching my
sister when I was little, and I feel that a part of me has always had the
desire to teach. I always knew that I wanted to do something in education,
but I was unsure of what it was that I wanted to do. I finally realized
that I had a passion for young children, and a deep desire to help them
to grow as learners and as individuals. I have learned that all children
are in need of compassion, love, and motivation in order to reach their
maximum potential. I fully believe that every student is capable
of being extremely successful in life as long as they are confident in
who they are and have high expectations. I hope to motivate my students
by challenging them to become more than they think they are. I believe
that teaching children is the most crucial job that anyone could ever have,
and I am proud to be going into such a rewarding field.
As an educator
I hope to instill an image of self worth and self-confidence into each
child by encouraging them to develop into distinct individuals with morals
and integrity. I also hope to encourage every student to understand
the importance of respecting others and themselves. I want to create
a hunger for knowledge, and teach morals and values by demonstrating them
in my everyday life. I believe that I must promote the idea of self-discipline
in and out of the classroom. I hope to teach students the importance
of striving to reach their maximum potential, and encourage them to never
stop dreaming and reaching for their goals. I also strongly believe
that an educator should depict to each student the importance of loving
and caring for others by treating them with unconditional love. I
want to engage my students in many interactive and interesting topics of
discussion, and have a challenging and fun environment in which they can
grow as individuals and learners.
I view teaching
as an opportunity to broaden the knowledge that students have. I
plan to have a learning environment in which everyone in my classroom is
a teacher and a learner. I want to be a student in my classroom and
learn from all of my children. I want them to become teachers by
learning things and teaching them to their classmates and to me.
I believe that if my students will search for and gain knowledge independently,
then they will have a solid understanding of the information. I will
teach with "hands on" activities that involve creativity and higher thinking
skills. I want everything in my classroom to encourage, motivate,
and challenge every child who walks into my classroom. I have a goal
to be the best teacher to every student every day that I teach, and that
somehow in some way, I might make a difference in at least one child's
life.
