It has always been my belief that all children are treasure chests.   The right

person has to become the key to unlock the treasure for the world to see their

gifts.  I believe that every child has gifts and talents in one or more area.

Sometimes these gifts or talents must be searched for.  When they are found,

the child blossoms into a wonderful human being.  Every child, no matter of

origin or race, deserves the right to learn.  It will be my job to be a passenger of

information about our world to these children.  I must help my students

discover the ideas and concepts of our world on their own so they can have a

more meaningful grasp on the knowledge they learn.  If they discover

knowledge on their own, they will be more likely to take that knowledge with

them as they leave my classroom.  In order for students to discover this

knowledge, I must create a classroom environment where students are free to

explore and learn in their own ways.  I will have an equal balance between

structured learning and exploration learning.  I feel some structure is necessary

to maintain a healthy learning environment.  Students must know their

boundaries and respect the rights of others to learn.  The students in my

classroom will help set their own boundaries and rules as well as help me

enforce them.  If the classroom is peaceful, there will be more opportunity for

students to learn.   I must be a stepping stone in my students’ education that

helps them learn the knowledge necessary to function in today’s society.
