Each side of the argument was reported from different ethnic and educational backgrounds. This may lead one to wonder how they chose which interviews to show. It seemed that the people for affirmative action were minorities. Educators, a politician and students voiced their opinion on the broadcast. The story consisted of narration, images and many interviews. This may have been the longest, most in depth story because it is controversial and it is of interest to students because most will be going through the college acceptance process eventually.
Channel One is probably more appealing to students because it is fast-paced,
on TV and geared to their interests. The anchors were dressed in the latest
fashions and appeared laid back. The image of the set and the way the anchors
come across may persuade the adolescents to accept their points of view.
