Elements of an Accessible Computer Lab
 

• Sign-In sheet posted at the door
• Samll amount of  computers at each section
• Comfortable chairs
• Suitable lighting conditions
• Well ventilated room
• Cry erase board in a highly visible location
• Projector suspended from ceiling
• Projector screen is positioned where all students can easily see
• Pull out trays under desks, for storage or keyboard
• Plastic covers to keep CPU clean
• Trained lab assistant
• Software available for each student
• Non-glare screens over monitors
• Wrist pads for each computer
• Mouse pads for each computer
• Headphones for each computer
• Desks must be wheelchair accessible
• Color and non-color printers
• Blinds over windows to prevent glare
• Coat/book shelf for student's materials
• Book/paper stanf for each computer
• Work (desk) space for each student
• CPU is accessible in case of technical problems
• Materials Center located in the room with a stapler, staples, hole puncher, paper clips, etc.
• At least one large screen monitor, at least 21 inches, for students with visual problems
