Philosophy of Teaching
Teaching is a rewarding experience.
The children of today are tomorrow's future. Teachers prepare children
for their future roles in society. My desire to teach stems from
children's needs. A teacher can have a strong impact on a child's
life and my hope is that it is a positive one. My philosophy of education
begins with the belief that children deserve a safe and nurturing environment
while attending school, children should have the strongest education possible,
and the opportunity to grow and learn by a team effort.
While a child is at school they deserve
a safe and nurturing environment. This can begin by ensuring the students
of order. I believe that a classroom should have a set of rules and
consequences. This enables the student to know what is expected of
him or her and what will happen if they choose to break a rule. Students
should be aware that rules are a form of protection and should be concerned
with rules and regulations with in the society that they live. Teachers,
as trainers of the future, should help prepare students for the transition
from the school environment into society. Students need encouragement,
warmth, and love. I believe in order to nurture a learner the learner
needs to not only feel safe but comfortable. I child cannot learn
if he/she feels tense or uncomfortable about learning. This feeling
may steam from numerous reasons that extend beyond the classroom, but when
in the classroom it is my responsibility to ensure this feeling does not
exist by providing positive reinforcement and encouragement.
My role as a teacher is to make the
learning process as easy as possible by not only presenting the information
in a learnable fashion, but to ensure that learning is taking place.
Students learn by many different means. Most students can benefit
from one or another learning style, whether it be visual or hands on.
It is my job to incorporate these learning styles into my teaching and
allow an opportunity for every child to learn. While students are
attending school, they expect the strongest education possible. It
is my responsibility to know the information and to able to present it
in a well prepared format. Lesson planning is an important tool for
a teacher and needs to be used in a wise manner. Planning is important
because it helps the teacher anticipate possible problems.
Teamwork is an essential part of the
educational environment. My philosophy is that all of a child's teachers
need to work together in order to optimize the student's education.
Sharing with fellow teachers what works in your classroom might help a
certain child in their own classroom. It is all about working together
to help children. Sharing ideas helps everyone in the scope of things.
I believe as a teacher that I should be open for suggestions from fellow
workers and administrators. I know that I do not have all the answers
and seek help when needed.
Teaching is a very rewarding experience.
I love to watch children grow and acquire new knowledge that leads to a
better understanding of the world around them. Children deserve the best
education possible and my role as a teacher is to provide this for them
by any means possible. The best way that I know how to make this
happen is to ensure that the students are in a safe and nurturing environment,
to meet the many needs of diverse learners, and to work as a team with
my fellow colleagues.
