Experience:

Student Teaching: in effect

Internship, Mabel Elementary School, Zionville, NC, Spring 2002.
Cooperating teacher: Mrs. Amy Cunningham. While I was at this placement I worked with Kindergarten children, I had an opportunity to observe and assist in the daily activities that could go on in a Kindergarten class. I had limited teaching opportunities during this time and hope to have more chances in my student teaching position. I encouraged the children to be as creative as they could and to receive positive feedback as much as possible.

Child Care Worker, Pleasant Green United Methodist Church Afterschool and Summer Camp, Durham, NC, 1995-2000, I had a great six years working with K-5 children at this facility. The experience that I had there began the adoration that I have for children now. I had a chance to tutor and become acquainted with the interests and development of a variety of children.

Volunteered at Little Pickers, Merlefest, North Wilkesboro, NC, Spring 2002. During this encounter I had an opportunity to work at a children's exhibition during a festival. This time gave me a chance to work with children ages 3-12 in appreciating the value of North Carolina heritage. I assisted children with finger painting pictures, sharing the importance of the arts, and introducing them to bluegrass music.
