In this book, there is a little girl named Florrie, whose dad was a great actor in Harlem, New York.  Then the Great Depression hits and Florrie's father loses his job as an actor and has to work in a bakery.  Then Florrie wishes on the Tree of Hope that her father will get a job as actor. Florrie's wish comes through and her father gets a part in the play called Hamlet. This book deals with the Harlem Renaissance.
