3. I choose this passage because
it is personification. As I read this passage, I had a mental picture
of a little ice man sitting on the window sill.
4. If you were ask to draw a picture
of this example of personification, describe what your picture would look
like? My picture would have a large window with four panes of glass.
The ice man would be sitting on the top left pane with his legs crossed.
The ice man has on a light blue shirt and blue pants. He has a gray
face with long white hair slicked back and blending in with his white mustache.
The ice man is shivering due to the cold temperature he stays all of the
time.
5. The Author's purpose in this
passage is to describe the changing seasons to the reader and also let
the reader know what impact each season change has on the prairie.
Simile
1. pg. 18, last two lines
2. "Her face....winter moon."
3. This passage is a simile that
describes the color of Moonbeam's face. I choose this passage because
it is descriptive and helps me make a mental picture of Moonbeam.
4. What is Moonbeam's face being
compared to in this passage? A winter moon.
5. The Author's purpose in this passage
is to inform the reader of the color of Moonbeam's face.
