Some types of questions that you can ask are Fact/Opinion, Multiple Choice End of Grade Questions (MCEOG), problem/solution, author's purpose, mood, and compare/contrast. Today you need to write down five questions and the answers. Make sure to include what page and in what paragraph you can find the answer to the question.

                A. because she did not like to share
                B. because it had been Laura's very own since Christmas morning in the Big Woods of Wisconsin
                C. because Anna was only a baby
                D. because Ma had told Laura to give her doll away

* Answer is B- because it had been Laura's very own since Christmas morning in the Big Woods of Wisconsin (page 231 para 3)

Passage Picker

Your job is to pick parts of the story that you want to read aloud in your group. You will need to pick four passages to read aloud within your group. Reasons for picking these passages can be descriptive, informative, figurative language, entertaining, funny/amusing, foreshadowing, or scary. Make sure to include what page you can find the passage and what paragraph or lines it may be!

* A great passage to pick would be on page 240 describing the Ingalls getting ready to go into town.
* On page 252 the passage describing the tree at the church would be good to share with the group.

Word Wizard

Your job is to look for special words in the story that you or your group members may not recognize or understand. Words that you could look for may be compound, hard, strange, describing, funny, and or important. Make sure to include what page and paragraph you found the word.  Here are two words to choose from, you choose one and then pick three of your own.

                                muffler (page253 para 4)
                                gunny (page 274 para 3)

Character Sketcher

Your job is to find an interesting character from the chapters you have read. For this lesson you can choose whoever you would like to do a character sketch of.  Make sure to find three words that describe your character and you will need to give proof or an example. Make sure to put what page and in what paragraph you found the proof. You will also need to tell one goal of the character, a problem and the solution for the character. When you are done, illustrate your character!!

Connector

Your job is to connect the story with something that has happened in your life. You will need to write it down and share with your group. You will also need to get your group sharing about things that they can connect with the story. Think about when Laura was told to give her doll to Anna because she was to old to play with dolls. Can you think of a time when you were asked to give away something special to a sibling, friend, or relative that was yours?
