Mila was caring because when she sees the helicopter, she is scared, yet she stays away from the water in order to give her
mother more time to drink. She knows her mother does not get enough to drink because she is always watching out for her.
2. Confused p.11
She is confused
because she thinks she is a dolphin and not a girl.
3. Perceptive p.19
She understands
pain. She knows what Shay is feeling without Shay saying a word.
Goals:
Mila's goal in this section is
to get home. She doesn't understand why she is not with her family,
and she feels that with time, she will find a way to be returned to her
dolphin family.
Problem:
Her problem is that she has been
taken from her home and her family and taken to an unfamiliar area.
She does not know about human ways and is very frightened and confused.
Solution:
She has made friends with Sandy
and is trying to learn human ways. She is trying to make the best
of a bad situation and is doing a great job learning the English language.
