Character Traits (must have three)

1.  knowledgeable pg. 5 par. 2&3
Explanation:  Maggie tells the reader in paragraph 2, that she knows about what makes bugs different (they have beaks that pierce) from all other insects.  In paragraph three she explains that spiders (arachnids) had eight legs and were not considered insects because of it.

2. persistent pg. 6 par 2
Explanation:  Maggie gets hurt by one of her "scary, dangerous" bug friends and she continues to collect them just more carefully.

3. brave pg. 8 par 3
Explanation:  Maggie is in the same room with two female bats and not only does she not run away but she also looks and sees 32 glistening teeth, and thinks that they look like elves.

Character's Goal is to wake up in the morning and watch the creatures of Maine.  Take a walk with a clear mind and enjoy the morning of her birthday.

Problem is that she remembers that a bratty boy; Mitch is coming to stay at Bug Camp with her and her parents.  She also sees a raven fly at her, which her grandmother has forewarned means a murder will happen.

Solution to forget about the pest; Mitch and enjoy what she can of the day.  Shake off the warning of her grandmother and ask someone who may know.
