Where the Action Begins
The action begins on a sunny morning in a huge grassy plain of a National Park. The air is cool, and the sky is blue as a mother cheetah watches from on top of a rock (pg 1-2).

Where the Important Events Happen
The important events of the mother Cheetah, Duma, hunting for food occur in the grassy plain, away from the rock where she sat before. The grass stands tall enough for Duma to hide. Wildebeest are scattered among the plain, grazing as Duma crouches, hides, and silently watches (pg 18).

Where the Action Ends
The action ends later in the day than when it began. Duma is still on the wide open grassy plain, and only her cubs surround her as she sits with her food under a tree. The day is almost over as the sun sets (pg 25).
