ARTFUL ARTIST EXAMPLE
The Hungry Grasshopper This picture is about the grasshopper cloud that covers the sky. The grasshoppers ate everything, including the corn crop! This picture takes place on the flat plains of the the Dakota Territory. It takes place during the 1870's during the westward movement of the pioneers. The White's crops are just beginning to grow strong when the grasshopper swarm attacks. I drew this picture because when I read this part of the section, I got this image in my mind of a hungry grasshopper getting ready to take a big bite out of a juicy corn stalk.
