Page 1-16 summary for Wagons West!

This story takes place in 1850 at probably one of the first settlements in America. We are introduced to a settlement of pioneers that make their living by working hard on the land. A man, Buckskin Dan, then visits the settlement and tells the pioneers about rich land out west. Hearing this, the pioneers agree to pack up their wagons and follow him to Oregon, the land of opportunity. Buckskin Dan led then through may trials, such as harsh weather and deep rivers. The pioneers then reached Fort Laramie where they bought provisions and made repairs from Native Americans before they continued on their journey west. The journey began to get trying and the pioneers began to feel downhearted, but were seeing promising landmarks on their way.
