Literature Circles Unit
Pre-Revolutionary War/1700s Colonial Life
Fifth grade Class

*This Literature Circles Unit is designed for use with a Fifth grade class but could be adapted for use with several grades above and below the Fifth grade level. The On Grade Level group is reading at a Fifth grade level. The Unit also includes lessons for three Below Grade Level groups (at Fourth, Third, and Second grade levels).  The class would work together on a book entitled The Courage of Sara Noble by: Alice Dalgliesh. The teacher should model the jobs of the Literature Circles for students as they read this book, as a class.
