The Great Depression
Closure
Activity:
-
At the conclusion of the
lesson students will participate in a writing activity. First students
will choose a character from one of the books they have read during the
unit. Next students will write a story from the point of view of the character
they have chosen. The story should be about the Great Depression, and the
setting should be some time in the 1930's (students may choose any location
they want). Students should include ideas about the economic situation,
hard times people faced, and some historical event found in their book.
-
Students should then illustrate
the story they have just written.
-
The teacher will then
play two songs:
- Song of the South by Alabama
(If you would like to listen to the song click

- Brother, Can you spare me a dime by Bert Van Den Brink
Trio
(If you would like to listen to this song click
