Addy Saves the Day
This book from the American Girl Collection is the tale of a family
of slaves who have just been freed. They are celebrating their freedom
but at the same time trying hard to find two of their children who were
lost in the commotion. The older brother went to fight for the Union Army
and the baby sister had to be left at the plantation where they lived.
The reader gets to see the main character, Addy get used to her new life
and make new friends that she thought would be enemies. You also see the
family gain hope that they will find the two missing children.
