Modifications for Special Needs Learners
 

• Teacher should allow for more time to complete assignments.
• For ESL students, teacher should contact your local ESL resource person.
• Teacher should pair ESL students with another student to work on jobs.
• Teachers should reduce amount of work, including in each literature circle job.
• Lit circle groups that include an ADHD child should work in a separate room.
• Teacher should provide supplementary activities to help ensure students success.
• Teacher should provide visual, auditory, and hands on activities to reach all students.
• Teacher should provide tape recorded selections of each reading for students who have language difficulties.
