Page 25 Paragraph 2
"It was dark in there and gloomy..."

This is a descriptive paragraph; Carrie is describing where the kidnapper has left her.
 

Page 34 Paragraph 3
"But then it come out that maybe the government would pay off the notes..."

I chose this as as a historical paragraph.  Carrie is explaining that the government may or may not pay of the slaves notes.  If the notes are paid off many slaves would be free.
