Page 84 Paragraph 4
"And at just that same moment I  realized that I was taking up most all of the room inside the clock and there was no room for the pendulum to swing."

I picked this passage because it is funny and is a cause/effect passage.  Carrie hid in the clock to see if she could find out who Dr. Johnson was, by doing this she stopped the clock from working.  She ended up meeting Dr. Johnson because he came over to see what was wrong with the clock.
 

Page 94 Paragraph 2
"Oh, it was hard not having no choice about things and being at everybody's mercy and not having no life of my own."

This is a  descriptive paragraph.  Carrie is saying that she feels lower than the tavern dogs.  She says the dogs have more freedom than she does.  This is important because it shows how sad and low Carrie is feeling about herself.
