My role as an educator is to use my pragmatic philosophy to teach my students.
I consider my students and me to be equals. I am the leader in the classroom
yet my students may take this same role at different times. I want them
to learn and interact with one another. I want to teach my students the
understanding that comes through being open- minded. It is important to
respect the individual for their opinion but you do not have to agree with
it.
I believe every child, regardless of
ability or disability, deserves the opportunity receive an equal education
and deserves the opportunity to learn. Children should be given the tools
needed in order for them to reach their full potential. This means that
every possible resource or modification is given to every student to make
learning possible. Individual learning styles should be accounted for and
utilized with each child.
