Educational Plans

* IEP: As an EC teacher I am required to complete an IEP, or individual education plan on all of my students. Each student that qualifies under North Carolina guidelines for having an exceptionally will have goals and objectives that will guide my instruction. This artifact shows goals and objectives for one of my students.

* PEP: Lincoln County requires all students who scored a 1 or a 2 on reading, writing, or math state exam, to have a PEP. A PEP, or personal education plan shows the student's strengths and weakness in a given area. It also shows what strategies the student will need in the classroom to become successful. The current teacher fills out what he or she is currently implementing in the regular classroom. The parent is a participant in this process and is given updates on their child's progress.

* Lincoln County's Foundational Class: This past semester, I was involved in Lincoln County's Foundational Reading Program. This program was taught by Dr. Rebecca Felton, Stamey Carter, and Vicki Norris. This class taught the basis foundational knowledge of reading. I assessed a student using their guidelines. I then took the information from the assessment and put it into an educational plan for my student. I listed goals, objectives, and my educational plan.
