I Poems

 “I Smee”

FIRST STANZA
I am loyal and obedient
I wonder if I will ever make captain
I hear the cries from a Mermaid
I see the treasure chest of the stars
I want to become wealthy
I am loyal and obedient

SECOND STANZA
I pretend to not to be scared to fly
I feel the magic of the stardust
I touch the sands of time
I worry that I will screw everything up
I cry when I think about losing my captain
I am loyal and obedient

THIRD STANZA
I understand that the sea as her own mind
I say that everyone man for himself
I dream that one day Black Stache will treat me like a friend
I try to be a good first mate
I hope that I will not be thrown overboard
I am loyal and obedient

By Diana Boyette

“Peter”

I am curious and brave
I wonder if I will ever grow old
I hear my fairy flying
I see the big orange ball descend into the ocean
I want to explore all of Neverland
I am curious and brave

I pretend that Black Stache does not scar me
I feel butterflies in my stomach when I talk to Molly
I touch the waves that creep up on shoreline
I worry about becoming Mr. Grin’s dinner
I cry when I think about the family that I do not have
I am curious and brave

I understand that the Mollusk people have been very kind to me
I say that friendships are what make life enjoyable
I dream about adventures and magic
I try to fly as high as the eye can see
I hope to live happily ever after on this  island called Neverland
I am curious and brave

By Caroline Efird

“I Poem: Peter”

I am a leader and I can fly.
I wonder what is being kept locked and guarded on my ship.
I hear bells.
I see a floating rat.
I want to reach out and touch Molly.
I am a leader and I can fly.

I pretend I am older than I think I really am.
I feel what a Mermaid thinks.
I touch the sky when I fly.
I worry that I won’t be able to protect James and the boys.
I cry when I think about losing Molly.
I am a leader and I can fly.

I understand there are bad men who want the StarStuff at any cost.
I say the Starcatchers are real and the StarStuff can make you fly.
I dream that I can live my life for who I am without hiding it.
I try to be brave for the other boys.
I hope I can fly out to see Molly very soon.
I am a leader and I can fly.

By Erin Miller

Peter

I am a young starcatcher.
I wonder what it will be like being young forever.
I hear bells.
I see fairies and mermaids.
I want to visit Molly in England.
I am a young starcatcher.

I pretend to be older than I am.
I feel the most wonderful feeling when I touch the box of starstuff.
I touch the sky when I fly.
I worry I will never grow up but my friends will.
I cry because I miss Molly.
I am a young starcatcher.

I understand the magic and power in the starstuff.
I say that nothing is impossible.
I dream about my mother that I never knew.
I try to take care of the other boys.
I hope to always keep the Others away from the starstuff.
I am a young starcatcher.

Fighting Prawn

I am wild and civilized
I wonder if my boy thought of me as the teeth came down
I hear children playing
I see black eyes and smooth brown skin
I want my boy back
I am wild and civilized.

I pretend that Mr. Grin has a conscience
I feel compelled to feed the beast
I touch my granddaughter’s cheek
I worry that Mr. Grin ended my lineage
I cry as the shouts subside
I am wild and civilized.

I understand that the flying boy is here for a reason
I say that he CAN LIVE on my island
I dream of flying with him
I try to forget that white men bring only trouble
I hope the Orange Haired Boy will fly me to my son
I am wild and civilized.
