Rain Forest Animals

Information: Large animals live in the rainforest's year-round hot, wet climate.  You will find jaguars, ocelots, tigers, leopards, tapirs, deer, and anteaters.  There are a variety of climbing animals such as monkeys and sloths.  Giant otters and alligators live in the rivers and streams.  Apes, gibbons, and orangutans are found climbing up into the trees.  Brightly-colored hummingbirds, parrots, toucans, and macaws nest in the treetops.  Snakes such as the boa constrictor, and spiders like the hairy tarantula grow to be enormous in size.  Like many other places, frogs and lizards come in all shapes, sizes, and unique colors.
