Stanley Corporation Releases Sensational New Product
By Beth Davis
Houston, TX- This
week at the 21st annual Home Decor Showcase, a fabulous new product was
introduced to the public. The Stanley Interior Decorating Corporation
released prototypes for its new egg plate with built-in centerpiece attachment.
CEO of the Stanley Corporation Jane Hansen explains,
“This isn't your grandmother's egg plate. It is just as functional
as her egg plate was, but it has been updated for our modern lives.”
The new egg plate features a sandblasted metal finish, slots that hold
eggs snugly, a stylish trim, and most importantly an attachment that accommodates
a lovely centerpiece. Interior decorator Johann Johnston raves, “It
makes decorating for the seasons a breeze. No more buying separate
egg plates for all seasons. You simply change the flowers from season
to season. Its so simple.”
Homemaker Jenna Wilson enthusiastically
gives her approval, “The Stanley egg plate offers a lovely way to display
your eggs. I'm giving everyone a plate for Christmas the moment they
go on sale.” Jenna may have to wait for her egg plates, however.
The egg plates are due to go on sale to the public next month, but rumor
has it that the supplies are quickly being bought by private investors
who plan to put them on sale over the internet at astronomical mark-ups.
The Stanley Corporation estimates
their cost to be around $100 from a reputable dealer, but private sellers
may charge twice as much. Internet business owner Roberta Clack claims
to be selling hundreds of egg plates that she received from an inside source
for $250 a piece. CEO Hansen warns consumers to steer clear of these
types of promotions. She explains, “The only way you can be sure
of the plate's authenticity and pay a fair price is to buy from an authorized
dealer.”
There have been many reports of dealers
selling imitation Stanley egg plates. It appears that gears from
washing machines and other mechanical devices can be used in a similar
manner as the egg plates. Many buyers are outraged that such an expensive
product can be so inexpensive to make. Hansen rationalizes, “Our
designs are inspired by everyday products, but we go to great lengths to
ensure that our products are refined into art. Only our products carry
the Stanley mark.” She emphatically denies rumors that interns at
the Stanley Corporation are being sent to junkyards at night to steal parts
for the company. This reporter advises consumers to be wary of imitations
and do their research before making a purchase.
