For a course in curriculum and instruction I did a software evaluation. I evaluated the software at the school of my internship by trying out several different CD ROM programs. Later, I use the program that I like most to teach to a student in the class where I did my internship. The student that I worked with was a second grader.

This evaluation was to help me learn to choose software that I could use in my own classroom. I will evaluate software to use for reinforcement in a unit. This will also be used as extra practice for concepts that are difficult for students to grasp such as in math or reading.

This evaluation will meet competency goal 10.6 because I will have found, evaluated, and selected an appropriate teaching resource for a student. Because I used a CD ROM math program that works with measurement, this evaluation meets competency goal 11.3. Goal 13.1 is met because the software that is used allows the students to work on different levels at the same time.
