Artifact: Technologies for Children
with Special Needs.
Competency 13.2 : Use media and technology to support learning for children with special needs. Context
The first thing that was done was to click on the Accessibility's Options in the Settings folder of the Control Panel. I then changed the display to high contrast. This made the font and everything on the screen much larger. This makes the screen much easier to read for a child who has trouble seeing. Then I added a trail to the mouse icon enabling a child to follow the mouse with little difficulty. Document One is a link to the Partnerships in Assistive Technology’s home page. (www.pat.org .) Assistive Technology is technology that enables students or people with disabilities to better participate in the community and the classroom. It enables inclusion, access, and availability to the classroom. Document Two is a link to the Partnerships of Assisted Technology community resources in North Carolina.
