Closure: Students should be divided into groups.  The groups will be compiled of one student from each literature book group.  They will discuss the outlying themes within each book or books they read, then postulate if there is a unifying theme within Karen Hesse's writings.

Each group will be provided with a sheet of poster paper or chart paper and be asked to make a visual of the unifying theme(s) and/or favorite theme(s) agreed upon by the members of each group.  The visual can be a sketch of something that happened in the book or just a picture of the theme being demonstrated (ex. theme - kindness: draw a picture of someone helping an elderly lady cross the street, even though this was not an action that took place in any of the books).

After each group makes their drawing, they will be asked to share it with the class and a discussion will be held about an author's, particularly Karen Hesse's, style of writing and main theme(s).
