The reading level for the book Sarah Bishop by Scott OíDell is upper 5th grade reading level. This book is about a young girl's conflict with the beginnings of the Revolutionary War. With the death of her family, she embarks on a journey that will put her courage to the test. The theme of this story is survival.
We will be using the following rotation of activities.
Day 1: Assign roles, give out sections to read, work on roles, get feedback
during class time, turn in jobs if necessary. We need to assign a record
keeper so everyone will get a chance to have a role at least once.
Day 2: Students will get jobs back in time to work on any necessary changes; they will meet in groups and discuss the book, then write summaries in their journals.
