This unit incorporates Social Studies with Language Arts through the use of literature circles.  Students will be provided with the opportunities to increase reading levels, vocabulary and comprehension.  They will also be analyzing information about the Revolutionary War and the people involved.  Students will be using the following books, one book per reading group:  Sarah Bishop,  The Keeping Room, and Samuelís Choice. Students will be working in a two day rotation method of reading, job tasks, then discussion, journal entries and summaries.
