About Me

My name is Amy Reep. I have taught for the past twelve years, all of my experience in North Carolina.  My experience is in fourth and fifth grade. I have taught  both self-contained and switch classes. The past four years I have taught fourth and fifth grade reading and writing to 75 to 100 students at Clyde Campbell Elementary.  The students in my classes range from learning disabled, regular ed, to academically gifted.  Each year I change how I meet the needs of my diverse student population.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education through the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1999.  My first teaching job was a remediation position for third grade. From there I began teaching fourth grade, and found my passion. In 2004, I earned my National Board Teaching licensure.  While teaching I have come across so many children that struggle with the reading process. I  felt that I had not recieved adequate training to assist these children, and my strong desire to help these children and become a better teacher led me to begin seeking my graduate degree  in the area of reading in Fall 2009.

I am married to a high school teacher and coach, Matthew Reep, and we have one child, Aydan. He currently attends kindergarten at the school I teach, and I enjoy seeing him in the hallways.  My husband is an avid runner and a Marine of sixteen years. We are active in our church and try to volunteer when time allows.  Over the Christmas break we add two members to our family, Caroline and Little Bit. They are minature Austailian shepards. They keep us hopping! As a family we love traveling and look forward to several trips over the summer break.
