Process:

1. Research the different regions of North Carolina, then brainstorm with partners to determine where you want to locate your town and how big it will be.
2. Visit the various towns in North Carolina and decide what type of recreation and cultural activities you would like to make available to visitors of your town.
3. Decide how you want your town to look, what the climate will be like, what type of plants will grown there, what landforms will be present in your town, etc.
4. Make a list of your ideas to help get organized before beginning your research.

4. Make a list of additional resources available at school, home, or in the library.
5. Read and take notes on the topics you have determined to be of importance.
6. Design a layout for your brochure by organizing your research and ideas. Prepare a graphic organizer to help plan the layout of your brochure.
7. Check and monitor your work according to the criteria set up by you and your teacher.
8. Ask for help from your teacher, classmates, or parents when you need it.
9. Create your brochure.
10. Share your finished product with the class.
