Throughout the past few decades, media (television in particular) has become more and more influential on the lives of Americans. Children are especially impacted by the images they see on TV, since they are often the ones who view it the most and are often the ones targeted by advertisements. The impact that media has on the lives of children can be clearly seen when visiting elementary schools. While doing an internship at Mabel Elementary School in Zionville, North Carolina, we noticed many influential factors that media has impacted in the lives of children. Possessions, attitudes, and the environments within the school are only a few examples of the aspects of children's' lives that media has had an obvious influence.
