Context
This web page was developed for my Integrating Media and Technology
into Teaching course in my pre-service training at Appalachian State University.
The lesson is designed for media literacy learning for third graders; the
students will observe a set of images and develop a narrative for each
image.
Impact
This lesson plan corresponds to the NC Standard Course of Study where
Language Arts competency goal three and Computer Technology competency
goal two are completed. The lesson will help students become familiar
with the computer and will prepare them for the Computer Skills Assessment.
Within the lesson links to the NC Standard Course of Study can be found
to help teachers and learners alike in navigation.
Alignment
This lesson plan includes a picture story where students must produce
a narrative according to the sequence of the images. This lesson
plan teaches a component of media literacy by completing competency goal
two (Tech Comp. 10.4) and language arts
competency goal three. The lesson asks the students to copy and paste and
type in their story lines, by doing this students will actually be preparing
for the Computer Skills Assessment because they will already know how to
copy and paste (Tech Comp 10.5).
