This is a Unit Plan for first
grade Social Studies. The focus of first grade Social Studies is
all about myself and identifying with my friends and
family within the community. Within this
unit, students will use computer
skills to word process (10.1)
, (10.4) and (11.1).
According to the NC standard course of Study, I have to assess the students
computer skills at this stage.

As an assessment, I would check on spelling, spacing, and punctuation.
All of these items would have been discussed in computer class, therefore
they should be familiar with it. Within this unit, I used references
to collaborate my lesson plans. In this
unit plan, I asked students to utilize resources such as encyclopedias
and the internet to locate and analyze information.(12.1)
The unit includes items requiring
student interaction and inquiry about
themselves, family, and friends, by using organizational
and management
strategies. (12.5).This
unit plan required me to coordinate projects that
utilize and demonstrate the use of technology,
as the students research their
family backgrounds. (13.4)
